Trendspotting: Hand-Drawn Details

March 1, 2012

I’ve been feeling so inspired lately by the way hand-lettering has taken the stationery/invitation world by force! Gone are the days of calligraphy being seen as old-fashioned or overtly elegant – these days, hand-drawn type is becoming more and more popular (even in the DIY wedding world). Check out some of my favorites below!

row 2:  contemporary calligraphy via plurabelle calligraphy

Ashley and Richard

March 10, 2011

By now you all know how much I adore our customers. You Betsywhite Brides are the best… and you’re all so darn good lookin’! Here’s another one of our sweet couples…

WEDDING DATE: November 13, 2010
LOCATION: Bushwood, Maryland
CEREMONY: Sacred Heart Church
RECEPTION: Olde Breton Inn
PHOTOGRAPHER: Adam Barnes Fine Art Photography
FLOWERS: David’s Flowers
GOWN: Tara Keely
GROOM’S ATTIRE: Men’s Wearhouse

ASHLEY’S FAVORITE DETAIL: We had our engagement photos scattered throughout the reception location, along with wedding photos of our parents and grandparents. I also had a very special locket attached to my bouquet that was filled with pictures of four loved ones that we know were there celebrating with us in spirit. And the flowers were absolutely perfect!

STATIONERY: Ashley and Richard ordered a full suite of stationery in the Love Logo #13 design including the Wedding Invitation, Response SetEnclosure Card, Wedding Program and Cocktail Napkins.
WHY DID ASHLEY CHOOSE THIS INVITATION?: [It was] simple and elegant, with a personal touch.

ASHLEY’S FAVORITE + MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTS: Favorite – During the limo ride from the church to the reception was when it started to sink in that we were finally husband and wife! Walking out of the church together as a married couple was a great moment too.

Most memorable – The garter removal. An XXXL pair of leopard print underwear made the night!

Congrats Ashley and Richard!

Happy Valentine’s day everyone! What better way to start off Valentine’s day than with one of our loving Betsywhite Brides! I absolutely adore the simple elegance of this wedding… and that cake is a stunner!

WEDDING DATE: October 23, 2010
LOCATION: Winter Park, Florida
CEREMONY + RECEPTION: Winter Park Farmers Market
PHOTOGRAPHER: Shannon Nicole Smith
FLOWERS: Lee Forrest Designs
WEDDING PLANNER/CONSULTANT: Jennyfer Mancino / Cake Specialist
GOWN: Sophie Tolli
GROOM’S ATTIRE: Men’s Warehouse

NICOLE’S  MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT: Other than marrying the love of my life, having my Grandfather walk me down the aisle was a memory I hold dear to my heart and will never forget.

STATIONERY: Love Logo #16 wedding logo, wedding invitations and response sets.

I love the fact that Nicole used her wedding logo on DIY projects like her wedding programs and table number/wine bottle labels! (see below)

NICOLE’S FAVORITE DETAIL: The location, an old weighting dock for a train station and today a farmers market, set the tone for the wedding styling.

Congrats Nicole and Ian! Thanks for sharing your special day with us!

Adriane and John

January 24, 2011

I’ve got another lovely wedding of yet another stylish Betsywhite Bride to share with you today! I just love this wedding venue… those palms, the light, the high ceilings… gorgeous!

WEDDING DATE: October 30, 2010
LOCATION: Saint Louis, Missouri
PHOTOGRAPHER: Susan Jackson Photography
FLOWERS: Fleurish
WEDDING PLANNER: (the bride)
GOWN: Amy Kuschel, San Francisco
GROOM’S ATTIRE: Savvy Formalwear

ADRIANE’S FAVORITE DETAIL: My dress was probably my biggest love-hate. I looked only online for dresses. I had no intention of shopping at a salon. So I found it online, and had it shipped to Kansas City to try a sample. It was beautiful, but I knew I could not gain an OUNCE! I was so scared when I tried it on the day of the wedding, it wouldn’t fit! But, the pictures make me so happy I stuck with it!

STATIONERY: Love Logo #22 Wedding Logo, Cocktail Napkins and Thank You Notes
WHY DID ADRIANE CHOOSE THIS DESIGN?: Very simple and elegant

Congrats Adriane and John! Thanks for sharing your photos!
