As we move into colder weather, it’s important to remember my number one rule – wear layers! Especially living in Michigan, since our weather changes so quickly! One minute it might be sunny and warm, the next minute, I might be shivering and searching for my umbrella. I don’t mind though, because I am a big fan of blazers… I think they help make you look pulled together AND they keep you warm!
When finding something to wear to your bridal shower during the Fall months, you want to be comfortable but also feel pretty. It’s also important to remember that an outdoor brunch could become chilly and you want to be prepared! I think this look is perfect for a bridal shower. It’s fun and feminine and you could easily wear tights under the skirt, or wear boots to make it more winter appropriate. Enjoy!

I can’t believe that September is almost over. This month has flown by!
September is exciting for so many reasons – some of my favorite things about the Fall are the leaves changing, going apple picking, college football and fashion week! While looking at some of the new Ready to Wear lines from New York and London Fashion Week, I kept thinking that a lot of the dresses would be perfect as wedding or reception dresses. Take a look at some of dresses I fell in love with…

Hello again everyone! Working as a stylist, I often get asked by women (and men!) what the appropriate dress is for various wedding events. For a lot of couples, the first time they are celebrated together is at their engagement party, and naturally, you want to look your best!
From the moment you’re engaged to well after the honeymoon, one thing is certain- your picture will be taken a lot! And the key to looking your best at any event (wedding related or not!) is to be comfortable in what you’re wearing. Stick to classic silhouettes that are not too revealing and stay away from really trendy pieces that will make you cringe 15 years from now. Oh, and don’t forget to smile- because you’re engaged!
I love Catherine Middleton’s style. She always looks elegant and beautiful and is pictured below in a Diane von Furstenberg dress. This type of dress can be easily dressed up or down and can be paired with tights for colder weather! And William looks so dashing in his navy suit and pocket square!
