Get Styled: Honeymoon in Europe

November 23, 2011

Hi everyone! I cannot believe that this is my last post – I have truly enjoyed making these boards for you guys!

The ‘Get Styled’ post for today has to do with the necessities for a honeymoon in Europe (or really any trip to Europe!). Since I spent 6 months living in France this past year, I thought about what I really loved having with me, and what I wish I would’ve brought with me. I have a giant cashmere scarf that is perfect for taking on long trips. It works as a scarf, but also a blanket/pillow on the plane. I also have a Longchamp bag that is perfect for trips. It can fit a lot and it folds up to fit perfectly inside your luggage. And while I love using my digital camera to take pictures, some of my favorite pictures are from my Diana camera. The camera distorts the film (kinda like instagram) and it’s a fun surprise to see the pictures when the film develops!

Some other ‘must-haves’: leggings serve as comfortable travel wear, pajamas and day wear. Black boots are perfect for walking around and can easily be dressed up or down (just make sure they are worn in!). Also make sure to pack a good moisturizer – my skin dries out on long plane rides, so I always pack a sample size of Clinique moisturizer in my carry on.

Fashion Fix: Ruffles

November 17, 2011

Hi everyone! I cannot believe that it’s almost Thanksgiving (where has this year gone?!) and I cannot believe that I am almost done posting on Flights of Fancy!

One of the things I love right now are ruffles of all shapes and sizes. No matter the fabric, I think that ruffles add character to any occasion. Plus, I do love looking at ‘ruffled’ wedding cakes! Enjoy!

Get Styled: Tropical Honeymoon

November 10, 2011

Hi all! As it has been getting colder outside, I have been daydreaming about taking a nice, warm, tropical vacation. I think that going someplace sunny and warm is the perfect getaway from the chilly Midwest winter! If you are planning a tropical honeymoon or vacation anytime soon, don’t forget to pack some of these essentials: a big, floppy hat and sunglasses to block the sun, maxi dresses that can transition from daytime to night and don’t forget the sunscreen! Because nobody looks good with a sunburn!

Fashion Fix: Something (Navy) Blue

November 4, 2011

Hi everyone! Let me just say that I cannot believe that it is already November! This year seems to be flying by. My day-to-day uniform consists of mostly black clothing but lately, I have been scooping up clothing in shades of blue… and navy blue has quickly become my favorite for Fall. It looks classic and timeless and is still a bit more exciting than black.
