INVITATION: By betsywhite stationery boutique. (sorry, this exact design has been discontinued but you can see a very similar version here)
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS INVITATION?: The venue we held both our ceremony and reception is a very elegant beachside restaurant. We wanted an invite that alluded to the location which was very elegant and not too ‘beachy’. We also had a very simple, elegant theme for the day and wanted the invite to reflect that.
See an example of a similar invitation below…
FAVORITE DETAIL: My garter. Damian is a police officer, and I had the idea of having a ‘Police’ garter made as a bit of a joke to surprise him with on the day. My friend made it for me and I wore it without mentioning anything to Damian about wanted to do a garter toss during the reception. My friends initiated the ‘garter toss’ towards the end of the reception, and it was hilarious when Damian discovered it!
I also loved the custom-made hair fascinator I wore on the day. It was really unique and everyone commented on it. It suited me and the occasion much better than a traditional veil would have.
FAVORITE MOMENT: My favorite moment on the day was when Damian and I walked onto the terrace where our ceremony was held. We decided to break with tradition and arrive together, and when we walked in together everyone cheered. It was fantastic to have the most important people in all lives all together in one place. The moment we both saw each other when we met at the hotel before the ceremony was also a very special moment.
