The trend of DIY weddings has revolutionized the traditional boutonniere. More and more we are seeing unique ornamentation, and it often doesn’t include flowers at all! This is a fun way for the groom and his groomsmen to get creative. I especially like when they are infused with personality, such as the camera-lover’s boutonniere below.

As we move into colder weather, it’s important to remember my number one rule – wear layers! Especially living in Michigan, since our weather changes so quickly! One minute it might be sunny and warm, the next minute, I might be shivering and searching for my umbrella. I don’t mind though, because I am a big fan of blazers… I think they help make you look pulled together AND they keep you warm!
When finding something to wear to your bridal shower during the Fall months, you want to be comfortable but also feel pretty. It’s also important to remember that an outdoor brunch could become chilly and you want to be prepared! I think this look is perfect for a bridal shower. It’s fun and feminine and you could easily wear tights under the skirt, or wear boots to make it more winter appropriate. Enjoy!

Hello again everyone! Working as a stylist, I often get asked by women (and men!) what the appropriate dress is for various wedding events. For a lot of couples, the first time they are celebrated together is at their engagement party, and naturally, you want to look your best!
From the moment you’re engaged to well after the honeymoon, one thing is certain- your picture will be taken a lot! And the key to looking your best at any event (wedding related or not!) is to be comfortable in what you’re wearing. Stick to classic silhouettes that are not too revealing and stay away from really trendy pieces that will make you cringe 15 years from now. Oh, and don’t forget to smile- because you’re engaged!
I love Catherine Middleton’s style. She always looks elegant and beautiful and is pictured below in a Diane von Furstenberg dress. This type of dress can be easily dressed up or down and can be paired with tights for colder weather! And William looks so dashing in his navy suit and pocket square!
