Wedding Inspiration

Lush Garden Greens

May 24, 2010

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend.

I was recently asked by Valerie over at The Wedding Shoebox to design an inspiration board for my own wedding, if I were to do it all over again. I have to admit, this was challenging. I see so many amazing images/ideas on a daily basis, and I’m so inspired by so many different things, it was a bit hard to focus. A definite A.D.D. moment.

Nonetheless, I pulled it together and this is what I came up with. Hop over to my In Her Shoebox post to read more about the thought process behind the board.

Classic Finds: Perfect Scents

May 21, 2010

Sarah from Classic Bride is back with us every Friday to share a few of her favorite finds, inspiration and ideas for chic, classic weddings. Here’s this week’s find:

Perfume bottles are often so pretty that I have a hard time just throwing them out … I’ve been known to keep several well after I had used up every last ounce and later turn in them into bath salt containers {check out this fun tutorial on the subject as well as some much more fabulous looking examples than my own!} … If you also share a soft spot for the pretties, why not incorporate them in your big day? I love the idea of rounding up a handful of ornate vintage bottles and sprinkling them around the floral centerpieces. You could fit a small bloom in each bottle or for an even more unique angle … you could fill each bottle with a signature scent. Maybe you and your love could concoct a special blend for you to wear on your wedding day and have some extra made up to fill the bottles … I love that the scent would always remind you of your wedding.

A Pre-Wedding Fiesta

May 20, 2010

As I mentioned yesterday, I designed an inspiration board for Cyd over at The Sweetest Occasion which in turn inspired yesterday’s freebie printable template. In case you didn’t have a chance to check out the board, I thought I would share it here as well. Enjoy!

DIY Download: Pre-Wedding Fiesta Invite

May 19, 2010

We already had a fabulous giveaway last week and it was such fun, I’ve decided to keep the freebies coming!

Cyd over at The Sweetest Occasion asked me to write a guest post on her blog this week and I pulled together a fun, Cinco-de-Mayo-inspired board for a Pre-Wedding Fiesta. In case you’re inspired to whip up your own fancy fiesta, I’ve created a FREE downloadable invitation template (with matching address labels) just for you!

The invitation design takes its cues from the inspiration board – a fun, fresh color palette of seafoam, emerald and a touch of a tangy yellow, along with design details inspired by papel picado and traditional Mexican motifs.

For a more spicy option, there’s also a second version of the invitation included in the download which was inspired by this recent color palette.

The template is super simple to use – all you need is Adobe Acrobat Reader (which you can get for free here if you don’t have it already).

For the invitation:
Type your wording in the template, print on cardstock and trim using the cropmarks as a guide.

For the address labels:
Type your return address in the template, then print on Avery labels #5164 (3 1/3″ x 4″, 6 labels per sheet).

Click below to download… and have fun!! If you decide to have your own pre-wedding fiesta, I’d love to see photos! :)
