Wedding Soirée Tip No.6

August 25, 2009

Gail Johnson with Wedding Soirée will be joining us every Tuesday for the next few weeks to share a few tips and tidbits from a planner’s perspective…

Although all the focus is on the bride and groom, remember your guests are VIPs too! It may be your day, but we are seeing an emerging trend…couples are becoming more in tune with the comfort and enjoyment of their guests.

We are seeing an increase in two- or three-day wedding events geared around activities for guests such as a ‘welcome night’, spa day, sightseeing, etc. Remember, many guests have traveled near and far to celebrate your special day so be considerate of their needs.

Wedding Inspiration

Fresh Squeezed

August 24, 2009

Several years ago, I art directed a photo shoot at an adorable bed & breakfast in Madison, Georgia. The owner of the house was sweet as pie and made us the best BLT sandwiches for lunch, along with fresh-made sweet tea. True Southern hospitality.

I imagine this wedding taking place somewhere like that – a small venue with a warm and inviting, down-home feel. White picket fences, screened porches, sweet tea and fresh squeezed lemonade.

I was thrilled when Susan of Bella Weddings & Events shared some of the details from one of their recent weddings with us! We first showed a glimpse of this wedding in this post but here’s a little more eye candy. I love the whimsical details like the pinwheel escort cards and chalkboard table signs…

Thanks for sharing Susan!
