THE BASICS…
Do you shoot digital or film?
I was trained in film, used to even develop it myself in a dark room, but digital is just so fantastic and allows us so many new possibilities that I’m all digital with all of my heart : )

How would you describe your style?
I’m a story-teller, I like to think that wedding photographs should flow together like a good movie. And since my background is in fashion and fine-art, you will see both coming through a lot in my work.

Do you shoot alone or do you usually have an assistant?
I can do either or, the client chooses. However, I do like to shoot with my assistant, whom I trained myself. We work well as a team: if I’m getting wide-angle shots that include scenery, my assistant will get close-ups and details, and vice versa – that way we get more diverse coverage.

How soon after the wedding can your clients see photos?
I promise 2-4 weeks, but try to get it done as quickly as I can (without compromising the quality, of course!)

Do you provide an online proof gallery where clients can preview the photos?
First thing my clients see is a slide show with key moments from their event made with their favorite music – it’s a wonderful way to re-live the memories! From there, the website will take you to a full image gallery, where you and your family and friends can order photos.

Will you accept a job in another state or country?

I LOVE to travel! Here is a little secret just for your readers: I will often offer something extra (like Day After shoot) to my destination clients, just because I love to travel and shoot in different places so much.

FUN FACTS…
How did you get started as a photographer?
Photography is my first and my biggest love – but please don’t tell my husband : ) . Ever since I can remember, I’ve been running around with a camera, trying to stop time and preserve those special moments. But I never thought about it seriously, until I became a model and started working with some really great photographers. I kept on giving them ideas for the shots, and kept on hearing that I should be a photographer myself. So, even though I modeled to pay my way through law school, after I finished it, I got a photo-journalism degree as well. My second year in school someone asked me to shoot a wedding, and I loved it so much I didn’t want to do anything else : )

What inspires you?
FIrst and foremost, my clients. I try to get to know the people I photograph. I like to talk to them. Their stories, hobbies, habits, anything that makes them unique gives me ideas, because I truly want every shoot to be unique and special. I also love movies, especially the ones that have great cinematography, I love to see different angles, their use of lenses, colors, or even get ideas for scenes for my shoots.

What do you think makes you different from other photographers?

I believe my portraits. I have a more of a cinematic approach to them. I like to create fun and relaxing environment, so my clients can enjoy the process, open up and be themselves. I also like to ad a fashion flare to it, and make sure that my clients look stunning in every shot : )

GIVE US YOUR TOP THREE TIPS FOR BRIDES…
1. If you care about photography, choose your photographer first and foremost with your heart. What good are more albums and other products if you don’t like the photographs themselves?

2. When choosing your photographer, make sure to view several of his or hers actual weddings (slideshows, online galleries). Anyone can get a few good shots for the website. But you want to make sure that your photographer’s work is consistent. That you like their style; and can see yourself being photographed that way (make sure to notice the amount and style of portraits, details, etc).

3. Make sure you feel comfortable with your photographer’s personality: he or she is going to be around you most of your day. Plus if you feel comfortable with them, you will have more fun with the photos, and will be able to open up and be yourself in the front of the camera.

Great tips Nadia! Thanks so much for sharing your work!
