April and Ahmed
WEDDING DATE: June 23, 2007
LOCATION: St. Thomas, Barbados
CEREMONY AND RECEPTION: Lion Castle Polo Estate
PHOTOGRAPHER: Dave Cox Weddings
FEATURED IN: Caribbean Bride Magazine
GOWN BY: Maggie Sottero
BRIDESMAID DRESSES BY: J. Crew
INVITATION: By bestywhite stationery boutique. (Sorry, this exact invitation has been discontinued but you can find a very similar design here).
OTHER STATIONERY: Matching Save The Dates and Wedding Programs
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS INVITATION?: The simplicity of the palm tree really signified the easy, breezy island lifestyle of Barbados.
WEDDING STYLE: We wanted our wedding style to be Modern Caribbean. Our color palette was Fuschia, Butter and Chartreuse – vibrant and fun. Being from Barbados, I wanted to incorporate true Bajan culture into the wedding. During the cocktail hour, steel pan music played in the background while Bajan appetizers like fish cakes and pumpkin fritters were served.
FAVORITE MOMENT: The highlight for us was seeing everyone dancing and truly enjoying themselves. Despite an injury, Ahmed’s mum threw her cane down and partied away! We wanted everyone to have a great time and it’s safe to say they did!
