Standard Baby Announcement Wording

back to main categories
Wording Tips
A baby announcement typically includes the following information:
• An Introduction (optional): This could be a short phrase or a few words
• Baby's Name: You can opt to include only the first and middle name(s) or you can include the full name
• Baby's Statistics: This includes the baby's birth date, weight and length. Time of birth and place of birth are optional.
• Who's Announcing: List the parents' names, names of the baby's siblings (or even grandparents).

NOTE: If your newborn is premature and you don't necessarily want to call attention to the birth weight, it is perfectly acceptable to not include that information.
